Each real estate licensee with an active license must complete a minimum of 12 hours of real estate instruction approved for continuing education credit by the Missouri Real Estate Commission (MREC) during the 2 year license period prior to renewal. At least 3 of the 12 hours must be taken in a course approved by the Missouri Real Estate Commission as core credit. Once completed schools have 10 days to provide course completion information to the Commission, and then the completed classes will be reflected on the MREC licensee search.

Click Here to check the status of your code of ethics training requirement. REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of of at least 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time every three years. NAR extends the current cycle deadline (which used to be every 2 years) from March 1, 2022, to Dec. 31, 2024. -
1. Check that the MO Real Estate Commission has record of your completed credit hours here and select the link for online renewal.
3. Log in using your pin number and license number. Your pin is included on the renewal application/postcard that you received in the mail, and your license number can be found on the My Portal page of your agent portal.
4. Ensure all personal information such as name and address are current and up-to-date. Click here to update your records. (Please allow a minimum of 72 hours for the information to be updated before attempting to renew online.)
5. Review the statements carefully. Check the box if you agree with ALL statements. Click continue. (If you do not agree with ALL statements, you must submit a paper renewal.)
6. Review your total fees, select a payment type and click continue.
7. Review the Fee Summary and provide your payment information. Click continue.
8. Review payment information and click process payment.
9. Review the renewal application confirmation information and print for your records. Please note this is only confirmation that a complete renewal has been received; it does not mean your license is renewed. Your license cannot be renewed until Dan has renewed, so if you have successfully renewed but the commission is not reflecting a new expiration date this could be why.
10. Continue to monitor the Commission’s website, or check with Peyton to verify that your 2024 license has been received so you may continue working. You may not practice after the license expiration (June 30th for brokers and entities and September 30th for salespersons) unless your license expiration date on MCREC's website reflects an updated expiration date. -
• Late renewals are subject to a $50 per month or partial month delinquency fee, up to a $200 maximum.
• Late renewals cannot be submitted online.
• By law, you cannot perform real estate activities unless you are duly licensed. You and your broker are subject to discipline by the Commission if you engage in real estate activities at a time when you were not properly licensed.
-
While Missouri broker and salesperson licenses are all on the same date, Kansas issues licences based on when you originally applied for licensure. Click here or visit your agent portal to see when your Kansas license expires.
Note:
If circumstances do not allow for timely completion of the hours by the expiration date, the licensee may renew late once the hours are complete or change to inactive status and renew.
Licensees who submit an incomplete renewal or who do not renew must stop performing activities that require a license after the current license expires. -
Salespersons and Brokers must complete 12 hours to renew, including at least 3 mandatory hours in an approved course titled: Kansas Required Core during the 2 year license period prior to renewal.
(Please Note: CE taken as a salesperson prior to the issuance of your Kansas broker's license will NOT count.)
Once completed schools have 10 days to provide course completion information to the Commission, and then the completed classes will be reflected on the KREC licensee search.

Renewal of a license on inactive status does not require continuing education but the hours must eventually be completed to change to active status. Licensees who request reactivation after two years on inactive status will be subject to additional education requirements. Licensees who request reactivation after five years must complete the initial examination. An inactive license will expire if not renewed.
